Read that earlier. Seems like and awfully damn expensive rent for event space.

They sunk so much money in that place. Schexnayder put a ton into renovating it. It's beautiful. He probably still made out like a bandit considering the increased property value in the area. It's too bad Corwell was such a jackass, I really liked Le Foret when it first opened.

After Brees Besh is the guy I would most like to see replace the Robert E Lee statue. He's been a huge part of the city's progress.

I agree. Had one of my most favorite meals there. I was so sorry it didn't work out.

I'm glad the building will be used. It was done well. The only thing I noticed was a bit too much sun coming in the windows as sunset. They may have remedied that, though.

Had my rehearsal dinner there. There are 3 or 4 different size stories for special events in that building.

I've lived in NOLA my entire life, and haven't heard a single local mention LeForet in any positive light.

It's a miracle it lasted this long.

It got a ton of press initially and was legitimately very good when Corwell was in the kitchen. He was a certified master chef and a great talent. Also a womanizer and an a-hole that was difficult to work with. I wish he could have stuck around though. I am surprised it lasted so long with him gone.

Shame you missed out when it first opened. It was a great meal.

Lots of press when it opened and when the certified chef left.

A chef who is a womanizer and an a-hole? Clutch my pearls, I have the vapors.

Le Foret was one of my top 2 or 3 fine dining experiences in New Orleans, the one time I went, when Jimmy was at the stove. Simply outstanding. When he left and the place became a revolving doors of chefs who couldnt get along with the GM, writing was on the wall.

Yeah, yeah. Not a big fan of the former GM, nor the most recent one, but Jimmy's departure was justified. I would have done the same as owner as would you.
