Most people recommend staying in Bronze until lvl 12-13 minimum unless you have a bunch of rank X kits and weapons, then you might be able to jump into silver earlier.

Not reading the thread I will be back on Sunday to play.

I've been playing the single player the past two days and just got done building the first outpost. Haven't played multiplayer yet. What makes it good? Is it like arena matches or more open world? Im new to mass effect so don't know too much about it. I think this game is getting more heat than it should btw.

I got to the big ice planet. Can't see two feet in front of my Nomad

I agree. I felt the intro was slow, but once I got an hour of gameplay in, I've barely been able to put it down.

Question for other biotics. What's your load out? I'm using singularity, lance, and throw. Carrying a pistol and assault rifle, but looking for something lighter than an assault rifle but is still powerful. Anyone tried the SMGs?

The charger SMG is a beast. Air with a decent heavy pistol for longer shots and you should be good to go.

Sweet.
I was playing Borderlands 2 before switching over and I completely forgot that weight had a negative impact on biotics.

I'm using pull, singularity, and lance. I two shot grunts with pull and lance. Pull is also nice in that I can pull unshielded enemies out of cover.
I've only tried the M-25 Hornet SMG so far but I really like it. Good up close but still accurate enough to use from medium distances.

It has gotten much better after the intro. Love the freedom of movement though it does let enemies flank you effortlessly. It gets annoying but I appreciate the challenge.
I like to see ramming something in the Nomad kill it. Ran right over one of the bugs on Eos expecting a splat but barely scratched it.
I'm still trying to figure out a good sniper build for multiplayer. Nothing I have is powerful enough to KO a grunt with a single headshot so the best sniper rifle I have is one of the automatic ones at which point I might as well just use an assault rifle.

Yeah the hitboxes on the bugs when running them over are pretty screwed up. I've managed to do it but it seems pretty random.

I don't know. I can look past the bugs and weird faces, but the writing and voice over work is bad. The salarian and Krogan voices are off and every character is meh. In the trilogy I would think hard about which squadmates to take and I would never dream of not taking a squad member on their own planet. Here, I just don't care. It sucks too b/c there is a pretty good game underneath, but no soul

Agreed about the voices, at least for krogan females. Can't stand listening to Kesh talk. The salarians sounded way better in the OT as well. Krogan males sound fine though.
I'm enjoying the game so far, but I hope Bioware's A team works on the next title. It's pretty obvious they didn't have their best people working on this.

Haven't read the thread so I'm not sure what the general consensus is. But, so far I'm supremely disappointed. Mass Effect is my favorite video game series ever. I can't believe they so casually slapped the name Mass Effect on this trash. I only have an hour and a half of game play in and know that the combat is HORRIBLE. And I'm just really pissed right now because I have spent an hour and a half on the first planet and the last 15 minutes of that have been roaming around looking for this pathfinder and do nothing but run into "leaving the mission area"

If you guys aren't reading these they're great

The reviews have been fairly average but the single player feels very much like a Mass Effect story. I'm really enjoying it so far!

I hate the open world shite. It's legit annoying but the main story- when it old school mass effect and it's confined to a certain area, it's fricking awesome.
Basically the open world side quests suck. The main story quests are pretty damn good.

I'm really enjoying the game and have trouble putting it down. However, I've never played a game that had this many bugs.

A lot of them do. Anything labeled "Task" I try to avoid. Some of the side missions are pretty cool. There's one on Eos after you set up a colony where you have to fight a giant Remnant space worm thing.
I like the missions that have you making planets habitable and some of the other ones, but it's very hard to separate the good quests from the pointless ones.
