I don't hate the game itself. I haven't finished the main plot yet but to the point I have hit, there hasn't been a major quest that I felt to be in peril and constantly under pressure.

I've all but abandoned Single Player. I've been splitting time playing cracked Halo DE and BF1 single player with MEA MP.

I think I may try and finish SP now that some of these annoying mission-killing bugs are being fixed. But I highly doubt I'll be buying anything with Mass Effect on it ever again.

No, there were more than that. He was the blatant racist in addition to a SJW.

It sounds to me that you haven't actually played the game and are just parroting some bull that you read on some crappy website.

Most of the game is spent shooting aliens and aggressively colonizing worlds.

Right? Must be some devious subliminal SJW messages that I missed inbetween SAM muttering about mining zones.

Should I buy this game now or are there upcoming patches in the very near future that will make significant improvements?

I'd hold off until you can get for $30 or under. There have been a few patches that have ironed things out stability wise both in MP and SP already.

Given that they reassigned the teams working on the game, I would assume it is as patched as it will get.

If you have nothing else you want to play, then get it. If you have other games on your to do list, then wait for a price drop.

Side Quest broke my spirit yesterday. I was already having a tough time getting through the main quest.

I've done most of the side quests but the one yesterday made me meet some spy on one planet, then go back to nexus, then go to another planet, then go to another planet, then go to another planet. So many pointless load screens. The whole quest could have taken place on one planet. Just one big pile of BS.

For those that said this is Inquisition in space, this game isn't remotely as entertaining as DAI. I was able to fire up DAI in all 3 difficulties. No way in hell I'm replaying this damn game and after the nonsense yesterday, I might not finish.

And I'm not a fetch quest hater, but all those damn load screens broke me and there is nothing remotely as entertaining as In Your Heart Shall Burn.

I think it's a flawed game, but I had a good time with it. It's a shame BioWare put the series on the shelf for the foreseeable future. I'd like to give the development studio another shot.

People compare it to Inquisition because the structure of the game is almost exactly the same even though the polish isn't.

Actually EA put the series on the shelf. The Bioware branch assigned to develop the game has been moved to support only. Mass Effect will be on ice until the stench passes over.
