I believe The Church at St. Amant was started/Planted by Healing Place Church, then then became their own church. I attended a funeral service there about 6 months or so ago, and got a good impression of Mark Stermer. I also have an Aunt that attends the church and is actively involved, and have heard nothing but good things from her about the church.

not sure if any of this is helpful, but one "event" should not be th sole basis of your decision. If they are keeping the teaches and no major personnel changes i would think its still the same school just under new management.

but if teaches are leaving then i would reconsider.

hope this was helpful

I am sure this will have some impact on how their athletic program is run?

Thanks for the responses. We haven't considered any of the catholic schools because we didn't get in with my oldest son because we did not go to church. Parkview is certainly a consideration though.

My son is going into the 8th grade and makes straight A's. He did not want to go back to CLA for 8th grade but I told him to stick it out one more year and we would make a move for 9th grade as I didn't want to possibly put him in a school for 1 year and then move to another school again for high school. We are probably going to try and get him into either BR Magnet HS or the new Lee Magnet HS for 9th grade. Probably just going to have to see how things go this year at CLA for 8th grade as they already have me on the hook for nearly $10K in tuition.

Christian Lifer We sent kids to Parkview.

They got saved a bunch at PV but at least the teachers there never talked in tongues.

I can also add Pastor Mark does do fire and brimstone services a decent amount, at least he did

I can attest to this. Lots of shouting, yelling during sermons. I like the message, but not the delivery.

He is NOT a protege. He actually left HPC years back cause he didn't like how it all became about money.
I don't go to HPC, or his Church....but that is simply untrue. He is nothing like Dino. I don't like that type of Church, but I respect him as a person and leaving HPC when he saw what it was becoming very early on.

Is The Church in St. Amant now running Christian Life church as well, or just the school?

Praise, and Worship. And donate. And buy a big house, and Rolex, and sing your words, and build a big metal building with a/c and cry.

And get people all hooped up with music! And wear your shirt untucked. And don't shave, with a big grin.

Yep. It's all about the Lord.

We are Catholic and do not go to church at CLA nor do we intend to start to going to church there. I liked CLA because we felt like we were getting a quality education, in a spiritual manor, without all the fire and brimstone.

Tell me more about this spiritual manor, please.

This could not be more wrong. I've been to Mark Stermer house. Very modest home and property off of Hwy 429/Weber City Road in St. Amant. He owns horses and cows. Not the mega mansion that Dino and Dylnn owned.
