Can anyone tell me about The Church in St. Amant?

I have been sending my son to Christian Life Academy since Pre-K and up until this point we have been happy with the school. We had open house last night where they announced the merging of The Church in St. Amant with CLA. Up until this point CLA was headed up by Dr. Jere Melilli who founded both the church and the school. Now the whole show will be run by Mark Stermer who runs The Church in St. Amant. They are bringing in the administration from The Church Academy School.
We are Catholic and do not go to church at CLA nor do we intend to start to going to church there. I liked CLA because we felt like we were getting a quality education, in a spiritual manor, without all the fire and brimstone. I felt like I was at a revival meeting last night. We simply are trying to give my son the best education that we can afford. Up until this point we were happy. Now I am not so sure.

Are Christian an life kids still the weird kids? Do they still have banquets instead of school dances?

Thanks for the serious response. To answer your question, they have dances. My oldest son graduated from CLA in 2011 and went there starting in 2004 and they always had dances.

Church of st amant was planted by HPC. Mark is a protege of Dino. I'm not fond of the guy. No idea about the school though, sorry.

Just giving you a hard time
I must be thinking of another high school but I could have sworn CLA held banquets

I can tell you I know a couple of the teachers and they are certified teachers who taught in the Parish previously. however, the ones I know are also holy roller to the extreme, they can see everything you and your family do that isn't Godly but fail to acknowledge their own short comings. Gets kinda old real fast because they "pray" for you with other Christians.

Sounds a lot like Dunham when I graduated

I've been there twice. The first time, they didn't take too kindly to my public accusation of open slavery still occurring there. The second time it went somewhat smoother as I dressed like a Scotsman and kept a low profile.

I can also add Pastor Mark does do fire and brimstone services a decent amount, at least he did

You're Catholic and you send your kid to a school run by religious nut jobs?? Get your kid into a Catholic school and let him pray to Mary like normal people.

pastor always has a shirt that has rhinestone crosses on each chest.... very Affliction-ish... kinda comical, really, to see this short, pudgy pastor with that shite on, along with cowboy boots and a big arse buckle...
went a couple of times, never really felt comfortable there... but if you are looking for a stark white crowd to pray with, this is your place...

I sent my daughter to Christian Life for the three year old class thinking it would be a nice head start for Pre-K and the future. It was a complete circus and I was very disappointed even though it was only a 3 year old curriculum. She's been at Parkview for a year and now starting Kindergarten. I must say I have been thoroughly pleased.

Pretty sure they're the church that encourages their nursery staff to lace the baby bottles with coffee and Fresca so they can accuse certain members of bad parenting and fluff up their sermon material.

How about a catholic school or Parkview? I have tried both and were pleased. Live Oak in Watson is about the best "free" school in the area if you don't mind the commute. HPC folks are usually really nice but usually batsh!t carzy as well.
