Tesla doubles down on its fraud.
They could not sell many cars if it wasn't far the federal tax credit of $7500 from all of us! The solar panels he speaks of receive large federal and state tax credits from all of us! As do the storage systems.
And for him to speak of sustainability is very misleading at the least. Even with these tax credit gifts from you and me the payback time for these solar panels and back up batteries are longer than their lifespan. So before this equipment is paid for you generally have to buy new equipment. And their warranties are not as long as their payback period.
So the premise of Musk's own business is financed by tax credits and voodoo economics.

the government paid BILLIONS to help prop up other infrastructures. Where were you when whalers were getting put out of work as oil was found in the ground?

...and those people care more about the price of their oil stocks than actually making positive change.
while I can say the Tesla program has had many faults at least it's forward thinking and pushing us in a new direction.
We need oil and we will never get totally away from it. But to be less dependant on it is a great thing.

Summarization:
Tesla production facilities will be revamped to be way more efficient and produce a lot more vehicles.
Eventually, full autopilot will replace drivers of vehicles for semi trucks and public transport. Cost of transporting goods will be reduced, and public transport will become on demand and the buses will become smaller.
People will be able to have their vehicles added to the "Tesla fleet" so that others can use them for transport, resulting in reimbursement or reduction on loan/lease payments of vehicles.

People who actually took the time to read this and think he won't make enough money to do it...Go take a look at Space X. They're literally launching rockets with payloads to the ISS while landing other rockets simultaneously safely on sea and on land.
They're about to reuse their first ever rocket to do this.
Once they prove the concept of reusable, safely landable rockets using either land-based landings or autonomous drone ship-landings, they will lower their cost of operating space payloads and deployment business which is already almost 50-60% cheaper than Boeing, Lockheed, their Euro competitors, etc.
No one is doing what SpaceX is doing for the cost that SpaceX is doing it.
In short, they will be the Apple, Amazon and Costco, of the space payload business. IE-their margins will be ridiculous while offering an incredibly refined service for rock bottom prices.
The ginormous, hardly describable amount of profits this business is already generating will reach a level that is such that Elon Musk could-literally-cashflow Tesla and the Hyperloop and hardly put a dent in his paycheck.
For those that don't think it can happen, it already is...It's just gonna take homeboy some time.

The end goal is that a lot fewer people own cars. And those that do, probably don't see them as "their" cars, but rather their contribution to the fleet. They make a little money on the side, and perhaps they get some other incentives for "buying into" the fleet.
I'm just speculating, but I think the end goal is kind of like an global autonomous uber set up. When you want a car, you just summon it and it comes and picks you up. Think of it as you're paying for access to transportation, rather than buying a piece of machinery that is yours and yours alone. Of course, this kind of set up in decades away, but I think that's the end goal. Lower costs of "ownership" and a LOT less cars out there because cars will be MUCH more efficiently utilized, thus no need for the volume of cars we have today.

I don't know about y'all, but I love driving.
Sure, I don't like it at rush hour after work, but other than that, I usually find some pleasure in driving around, even on road trips.
I really hope they never force us to have self-driving cars, but I doubt they will. I always want the option to drive.

I would be shocked if 100% adoption of self driving happens in our lifetimes. Maybe generations from now no one will drive, but I don't think anyone alive today will live in a time where the option to drive is prohibited.
