We've never really had problems with kickers since Miles has been here. Not worried.

Crucified by the media for letting his senior kicker walk.

You don't renew a walk on scholarship like you do a signee for 4 yrs. Each year the numbers are different. Last year they had a couple of spots and I believe Moore and Domingue received those spots. This year they don't have the luxury of having extra spots.

So it's not Miles' fault and he wasn't processed. He was never guaranteed a scholly just because he had one last year.

He's graduated, so he can look for a scholly from another school plus he wasn't guaranteed the starting spot with the other 4 kickers competing for the starting spot.

Miles has always treated more talented players differently than guys without as much promise

If he graduated maybe it isn't worth it for him to screw off a semester to kick

He said he's transferring elsewhere for his final season anyway.

i wouldn't say very good. His last 2 games were ugly. He never had a huge leg, which is fine. but he was 4/6 from 20-29.

Yeah, no offense to Trent and I appreciate him.. but it's not like he isn't replaceable.

I know of a few teams that have young kickers beating old the vets.

I think Wisconsin may have a Freshman kicker beating out their guy. That's what I heard from a fan *I think*

Gamble has a huge leg, but damn is he erratic. When he has kicked off in games, he has put a couple out of bounds, not to mention the delay of games (who in the hell gets a delay of game on a kickoff???) Watch him in warmups before games...he sprays his field goal attempts all over the place. Everyone in the bottom third of the student section is in his line of fire when he warms up.

I don't believe Gamble is a consideration for kicking fgs. I believe he is a kickoff specialist and hope they let him kick it out.

I assume on scholarship

What does a semester cost these days? I think if he plays somewhere he is hoping to make pro or has a school related goal like graduate degree?

No one can piss away scholarships on kickers like LSU. LSU has signed at least one kicker in just about every class over the last 5 years. Yet, during that time period the PK duties have been more than ably handled by walk-on's. The "scholarship" kickers have been largely relegated to kickoff duties which, quite frankly has been nothing to write home about. Why not give at least some of those wasted scholarships to positions players with borderline LSU/SEC potential? Who knows? One of those guys could turn out to be the next Hester.

Certainly Les knows more about the situation than we do. But from the outside, it looks like he just dumped an experienced kicker who has been at worst, solid, and left a couple of other guys on scholarship who have never kicked a significant college FG in their lives.

This is a head scratcher. You now go into a big season with a guy who hasn't kicked a significant FG since 2014, and others who haven't ever kicked a significant FG at the college level.

yea. just funny that he is painted as some saint. Im speaking more along the lines of kicking shitty players off the team for getting in trouble, yet giving TM7 and Perriloux numerous chances. Les is a piece of shite in that regard.

Like he'll let Valentine take the kickers scholarship after Valentine couldnt handle his shite the first go round. That's some bullshite

In other words, "Les knows more than I do, but I'm going to bitch about it from the cheap seats anyway..."

This is not accurate. Domingue wasn't on scholarship this year(2016). He was only granted a 1 yr scholarship for 2015 because we only had 83 scholarship players.

JD Moore wont get a scholarship this year either unless someone leaves between now and the start of the school year.

We had four kickers on scholarship. Way, way too many. It was obvious someone was going to be the odd man out.
