Jack Gonsulin is the local guy right? I said Culp on the first page but I meant this guy. I've heard that he's been excellent.

Gamble hasn't done it,
Gamble has a huge leg, but damn is he erratic. When he has kicked off in games, he has put a couple out of bounds, not to mention the delay of games (who in the hell gets a delay of game on a kickoff???)
Watch him in warmups before games...he sprays his field goal attempts all over the place. Everyone in the bottom third of the student section is in his line of fire when he warms up.

I don't claim to be an insider of LSU football but I do have an inside source regarding this and this statement above is true. Take it for what it's worth.

Gotta trust the coaches.

Well, the fact that he didn't kick field goals for his high school team was kind of telling. I just expected more consistency on kickoffs. I mean there's no rush or time pressure, so I don't understand why he shanks so many kickoffs. This isn't just "sky kicks," this is outright kicking them out of bounds.

I'm not worried at all, BDP is money as special teams coach...

Giving Gamble a scholarship and not Domingue makes no freaking sense. None. What does Gamble actually do well?

nice job Les
It sucks for this to happen to a senior, but I don't know what you want. If he did this he has a good reason. This is the game..

That's cold. He was very good last year. I can't fathom a justification for keeping Cam Gamble on scholarship but not renewing Trent Domingue's. Domingue was just as good on kickoffs and very reliable on field goals.
He seems a lil upset. I get it, but hasn't he had scholarship for 4 years? I don't know what his aspirations are, but why leave LSU?

What?!
He was on the Groza Award watch list.

Doesn't mean anything. A lot of players make watch lists.
Posted on 7/13/16 at 7:48 pm to RedFoxx
Anybody from a major college will be on that watch list
It's the semifinals list that really matters

How many scholarship place kickers does one team need? What do we have 4 or 5?
Posted on 7/13/16 at 7:53 pm to Boomshockalocka
EXACTLY !!!
He's going to leave his teammates over 1 year of tuition? One year that he could have gotten other financial aid to cover it ???

If Culp and Gonzulin (however u spell it) are good YOUNG kickers...... the need for a 3rd kicker who already had 4 years at LSU (hes a 5th yr senior) is too heavy on the schollies.

Trent earned his degree in the Spring. I'm sure that was part of the decision.

Isn't Connor Culp a beast?
I understand he's inexperienced and it's strange to process your starting kicker.. but they probably couldn't keep them all and parted with the guy who only has 1 season left.. wanting to kick the younger talent still on board.
I really like Gamble's potential on kickoffs if Miles just lets him kick it out of bounds.. and Culp, I believe is suppose to be legit.

Dump Gamble, then.
Our best kickers recently have all been walk-ons.
How would anyone on this board have any idea which kicker is better than the other this summer?
