Since you are saying we are all taking in WAY to much protein and your methods are more effective I think your height/weight/BF% is kind of relevant. I turn 42 on Saturday by the way.

Actually it was this comment that really made you look like an idiot to me. The guy said he has a home gym in his garage, and you jump to the automatic assumption that he does Crossfit, as if that's a bad thing.
I was joking with the guy.
Want to find somebody who DOES hate Crossfit and think it is a bad thing.. Youtube Elgintensity.
True story. Houston orthopedist was talking to another nurse I work with. Apparently a big time coastal/parrothead/fishing guy. His boats name? P90X. He plans to buy a second smaller boat and call it Crossfit.
true story. the nurse who told me could be full of shite, but she DID tell me.

I am still waiting for him to explain why eating 360 grams of protein would make a person have a gut as opposed to 360 grams of carbs.

You are talking about starvation diets. which I am not advocating. GB issues are frequent in post-bariatric surgery patients as well. they ARE starving.
It's beyond post-bariatric patients. Any diet that restricts fat to that degree with cause those issues. People who lose large amounts of weight, even beyond bariatric patients, are subject to issues with their gall bladder because of the severe reduction in fat. They tell you now to include some fat in your diet so you don't develop those issues.
It's pretty common sense.

Then you should be on a calorie deficit with high protein consumption.
You're hurting your progress. You may not be "protein deficient", but you're not maintaining the most lean body mass possible while losing weight.
Not debatable either. The science is clear
Furthermore, it would be absolutely easy to obtain funding and profitable to prove that protein isn't necessary to maintain or gain LBM. do you know how much $$ is in fat and carb based products?

You automatically lose 10 lbs of water weight when switching to low carb. You'll look leaner but only because you are water-depleted. This is why you'll "gain it back so quickly" when you indulge in moderate-to-high carbs. Just keep this in mind.
You bring up a very valid point...
I failed to mention a large part of the routine is tons of water.
Sweets are my number three vice behind women and XXX.
I no longer crave sweets like I once did. I can easily pass on chocolate now, which is unusual. And I can literally eat what I want (always have) and still looked healthier than 95% of the population.
I'm just saying what is working for us. Sometimes things like these don't work for everyone.

Because as this fictional person would age they would lose interest in the diet and begin to cheat. throwing more carbs into that protein amount. What they will be left with is meat.

And this is the key
I personally find low carb painful in a Texas and south Louisiana environment.

water is just generally important b/c it also makes you fill more full and if you get dehydrated, your body will seek salt ('alo chips, fries, and fried foods). i'm all about trying to figure out what foods make me feel full, which makes it much easier to pass on shite (knowing i will still fail)

I'm up in the Northeast and trust me, it isn't any easier up here.

It be hard to reach 360g while "losing interest"
And you've admitted to cheating on your diet too....

Never met a fat dietician or coach or Diabetes educator?
Knowledge and application are two different things.
Again I am not fat, but shredded like I ASSUME ALL of you guys are? Nope.

And no wheat products too...LOL
It really is hard especially living in Cajun country and having family members who are all great cooks (we share a name with a famous chef).
Rice in everything, potato, sweet tater...the list goes on.
I don't crave them anymore since we cut out all the by-products and the manufactured sugars.
I really and truly believe the government fricked with our diets several decades ago in order to establish another big govt program.
The foods they push are wrong, as a whole, for the population. But again, some diets work better for others. There should not be one universal approach.

I never said your method wasn't effective. Paleo, Old Atkins, South Beach all prove that they work. Is it really healthy?

Honestly, no. And if I did, I wouldn't trust a word that came out of their mouth.

Yes but not practicing what you preach is a red flag for me.

Never said I was shredded, but I'm definitely not overweight. That's why I come to this place looking for advice and don't try to act like I know something that I don't.

I'm not anywhere near overweight like you said you are, despite your application of the "right" diet

True. Thats A LOT of meat AND potatoes.

A proper high protein diet is healthy
Higher biomarker-calibrated protein intake is not associated with impaired renal function in postmenopausal women.
