Wife thinks we're going to a campaign event, but we didn't do much for her birthday so looking to take her out...not looking to go eat at Dickie Brennans or Ruth Chris' or anything like that, but also not looking to go to like Gordon Biercshe, looking for something inbetween... Something casual...

Peche if you haven't been there and the wife likes seafood...and, if you can get a reservation at this late date. College Inn?

lots of good places offering special 3 course meals for good prices in promotion of the Coolinary Menu deal going on in NOLA right now.

Check out Brigsten's. I think they have a 3 course meal for $39 a person that looks outstanding!

I can't say that I have ever seen this recommended before, much less as a place to take a wife for her birthday.

Dick and Jenny's is nice and casual. Good food, something off the mainstream. Delachaise is great for drinks to start with.

I would do the summer special menu at the Pelican Club. Not really a "casual" restaurant but this is the best bargain in town.

One of my "go-tos" for a casual dinner.

Went a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years. I've always liked the idea but the food doesn't measure up.'
