re: Arsenal 2015/2016 Season Long Thread

the wilshere ramsey combination Is something that wenger continues to to tinker with and if they can get good chemistry togethor then our midfield would be mouth watering. I feel that they are too similar of styles though. It reminds of the gerrard lampard partnership although they were better players but the principle is similar in that they both can play amazing football when they are paired with a defensively minded player but togethor there just isn't enough defensive stability. I do think that a midfield 3 of ramsey wilshere and coquelin will be tinkered with this year by wenger and to have that as a second string midfield shows the depth of this arsenal side that wasn't there in recent years. The Arsenal midfield is not only one of the best in England but in the world and this year is going to be a good year to be a gunner fan

The one thing that worries me is Jack got up very slowly a few times against Wolfsburg after holding on to the ball a bit too long. He HAS to stop getting hurt so damn often.

I think with wilshere he gets injured a lot by him just waiting until the defender is fully committed to release the ball and it's good soccer but it gets him injured a lot because of how physical the premier league is and how defenders really commit to challenges

Jack really does get crunched more than anyone I've ever seen play. You're absolutely spot on as to the reason too. He plays fearless and pays for it.

Yeah exactly lol. We have to make at least one more addition before the season starts though, I would hope

Here is my starting 11 v Chelsea for the Community Shield with some detail on why certain players where chosen over others. Please share your 11 also.
GK-Cech
RB-Bellerin
CB-Mertesacker
CB-Koscielny
LB-Monreal
CM-Coquelin
CM-Cazorla
RAM-Ramsey
CAM-Ozil
LAM-Walcott
ST-Giroud
I went for Bellerin over Debuchey at RB because Hector has made that position his own. He also did a good job on Hazard in the 0=0 draw against Chelsea at the Emirates. The rest of the back four picks itself as they have been solid all through the second half of last season. The Coq-Santi-Ozil triangle is magical and should not be touched. They balance out each other so well. I went with Ramsey as a reward for his play at RM last year and also his form in preseason. He will give us another guy who can keep possession and Ramsey always puts in a shift defensively. I went for Walcott on the left because of his form late into last year and his preseason has been good too. Theo also makes runs which open up passing lanes for Ozil and Cazorla. Striker picks itself with Giroud as the only other alternative would be to play Walcott there but I think Walcott can always shift over when we bring in subs eventually.

The Ramsey/Coq/Ozil midfield is better. I know we all love Cazorla, but a healthy in form Ramsey is better.
Not to mention Chamberlain needs to play.

I can definitely see that side of the argument but Cazorla was our second best player last season. He was incredible. I honest love Ramsey in the same position too. I think he offers a goal threat and he is more athletic. I just think Santi has one more near world class season in him then the mantle would be passed to Ramsey. And as seen in preseason against some opposition or in certain situations they could see time together. As for Ox I would play him against certain/weaker opposition. He could even eventually take Theo's place. That was kinda my stab at our big game 11, the top 4-6 teams in the EPL and the big UCL games.

Santi was probably our second best player last year behind Alexis.
