I agree with the first part of that statement but fail to see the "genius" with Mett. He did OK with him but nothing more than any OC could have done considering who he had to work with. A lot of OC's could have got more out of an offense that had that level of experienced NFL talent all over it. But I haven't given up on Cam at all.

Don't be a dumbass. Every offensive starter's efficiency greatly rose with Cam.

Mett
7.4 ypa to insane 10.4 ypa
58.8% to 64.4% (Russell was the last full year LSU QB to finish with more than 61% cmp)
12 TDs in 351 attempts to 22 TDs in 296 attempts

Hill
5.3 ypc to 6.9 ypc

Magee
1 attempt to 7.3 ypc and 8 TDs on 86 carries

Beckham
710 yards and 2 TDs at 16.6 ypr to 1150 yards and 8 TDs at 19.5 ypr

Landry
570 yards and 5 TDs at 10.2 ypr to 1190 yards and 10 TDs at 15.5 ypr

We were 7th in the country in yards per play. Yards per play shows you exactly how explosive an offense is. Having a better defense in 2013 would have allowed us more plays on offense, more plays on offense would have equaled more yards and TDs.

Went from 57th in scoring to 23rd
Went from 52nd in rushing to 29th
Went from 67th in ypc to 28th
Went from 94th in passing to 45th
Went from 75th in cmp% to 35th
Went from 58th in ypa to 2nd
Went from 30th in rushing TDs to 10th
Went from 109th in passing TDs to 45th
Went from 87th in ypg to 35th
Went from 75th in ypp to 7th
Went from 100 in 1st downs to 48th
Went from 63rd in 3rd down conversions to 1st

All those ridiculous arse jumps from a pretty bullshite arse offense the year before yet people still give this guy shite for that? Arguably the most productive LSU offense on record and he still catches shite? Time and time again LSU offensive players mention how much Cam has helped them yet he still catches crap from fans. All this imaginary "any coach could have done the same with that talent" bullshite.

Threads like this is why I don't talk sports with many LSU fans outside of this board.

Are you saying Mett was plug-n-play and didn't improve while at LSU? Don't you find it odd Mett couldn't even take the #2 spot in 2011, or kill it as the #1 in 2012 with all that previous "superior" training?

Don't forget with the incredible Landry, Beckham, and Hill who somehow didn't improve on technique or knowledge of pro style offense with Cam at the helm.

People just don't understand just how much he helped these guys.

we were also tied for 3rd in the SEC west in yards per play and finished 7th in the SEC in total offense. It was a good offense loaded with great talent. I never said it wasn't.

With no quarterback play, I'm amazed we did as well as we did. If I was a D Coordinator I would put 8-9 in box and man up the 2 receivers and dare to pass. This happened often and still got running game. Just don't know why they never fed Fournette the ball more, bowl game he tears it up first half and barely plays second. That was common. We could easily be title contenders with average quarterback play who limits mistakes

If the offense isn't improved,(one would think it couldn't possibility get any worse) then he has to geaux. I don't care how Choctaw and Beefense try to spin it. Will be no excuses this year.(though, I'm sure they'll try) He gets paid too much to not get at least serviceable results. I think the offense takes a big step forward, but that's the optimist in me.

Is Cam on the hot seat after this season if the offensive output and QB play does not improve drastically?

The true test will come in 2015. No more excuses for this guy. Everything is in place for a breakout year for this offense.

Cam Cameron On The Hot Seat?

Les Miles is on the hot so therfore the whole coaching staff is on the hot seat.

With that being said CLM and Brandon Harris lead LSU to a 14-1 season and a CFB playoffs championship in 2015.

His awesome season just happened to coincide with having a Top 5 WR and RB in the NFL (as rookies) on the roster as well as a QB that started multiple games in the NFL and another receiver that will likely be a Top 20 guy next year.

Not to completely dismiss the season, but come on...even an average SEC OC would have had a field day with that talent.

sad thing is we had the same type of talent at the skill positions (albeit young) but very talented...Just no QB to get them the ball, this is the epic fail of the program...The most important position on the field is a QB. This must be recognized, recruited, developed/coached with an extreme sense of urgency from now until the end of time to have sustained successful program.

No. He's not on the hot seat. Not even close. He might be in tRant's perspective.

Coordinators and HCs should and in most cases are supposed to be given 3-4 years before true signs are given. CCC came in before NSD. He didn't have much effect on the first recruiting class. He helped get BH. But he has to have time to recruit his players for his schemes. If in two years he's ineffective, then he can go.

Hugh Freeze wasn't expected to immediately change OM the first year. He had a 4 year plan and it's working. They've improved in record and recruiting every year. Shouldn't the same philosophy apply here?

So, Miles deserves all the blame for the offensive playcalling in 2014. I guess that means he deserves all of the praise for the offense in 2013 then correct?

I see other schools in the SEC recruit and develop qb's with problem. example Alabama, look at Lane Kiffin. He takes Alabama to the playoffs, and legitamentally has a chance to win the game if Alabama's defense could have stopped Ohio states run game. Until I see a change, I expect to see the SOS .

Keep Jennings @ QB - CC will probably be in the hot seat.

Replace Jennings @ QB - CC likely referred to as offensive genius.

There's your problem.

Regarding Miles calling EVERY play...I don't think so.

Regarding Miles calling the same three plays to start every game...probably true.
