so you held WMT for 3 years?
Yep I did. I thought it was a good buy & hold that paid a decent dividend. I finally decided I wanted something with more growth prospects, but don't know what I want to do with the $ now. I'm just going to keep it in cash while keeping an eye out.

Wish I could help. I like slow growth with good dividends.
Well that was quite the day.
Who thinks it continues?

I suppose if WMT drops down in the $50s again I would buy it back.

NASDAQ sure looks like a double top reversal.

PM markets open up overseas in about 10 minutes. It will be interesting to see what happens. I don't anticipate a rush in to pm's. Having said that, the 10 and 20 year performance of pm's seems to me at least to crush the real returns of the equities market, and on days like today I'm glad I own them. Also glad I insure my equities holdings.

I'm guessing no one here is buy and hold mentality?

We are all very successful day traders that rarely, if ever, lose money.
In reality - I would bet most of us have a large buy and hold portfolio with a side pool of funds for active trading.

That's what I figured, I'm the same
Day traders are like gamblers, you never hear about the losses and everyone is up

The reigning champ says to hold strong and stay in the market... For now.

I bought at close yesterday and am buying some more this morning.
ETA: My exit would be around S&P 1,890 to 1,900.

Nope. This could get ugly for the shorts. Check out the short interest vs daily volume.

I looked. Still taking a long time to cover. Someone thinks they know something. Time will tell.

Don't all short sellers think they know something? They are probably still in the black on their trade.
I got in on 7/28 (luck, not skill), but I'm thinking this has another 10 bucks in it before I sell. When it hits 65, I'll stop loss back at 60.
