re: New York moving recommendations - LSU0358
We are moving to CT in 5 years for the schools and to be close to the in-laws. I would have a heart attack if I have a teenager running around the city.
I figured that might be the case. Looked to me that getting in a good public school would be like winning the lottery. And p...

re: New York moving recommendations - LSU0358
What about Brooklyn
Definitely worth considering. Prices drop $500 to $600 in Brooklyn, especially places without a Manhattan skyline view. Subway ride to where she'd be working would only be 10 to 15 minutes too....

re: New York moving recommendations - LSU0358
Greenwich Village, SoHo, Midtown, Upper West

$1,800
That's going to be tough. Might need to look Lower East Side in an older building for that price. I just took a week long trip there and read a lot about real estate in that week. Someone who's lived there...

re: My Non-travel ball playing nephew just made the HS baseball team - LSU0358
Parents being the number one issue.
Amen. My son gave up baseball last year. He didn't like it and was average to below average. I hated that he no longer plays, but I have to say a smile crossed my face thinking about some of the jackasses I wouldn't have to deal with anymore....

re: How should I handle this situation figuring out my Dad used my birth money? - LSU0358
Or even said when he paid the hospital bill, hey you know what son, can I use the money you gave me to cover this? Then its not stealing IMHO. but if he didn't, its taking something that doesn't belong to you. And its theft IMHO.
This covers it. I'd never use money given to...

re: The Japanese want an apology for Hiroshima - LSU0358
My grandfather was on the 1st US ship that came into Nagasaki after Fat Man fell. Sailors on the ship where driven around in trucks to let them see the damage (they where not allowed to get out of the trucks because of radiation concerns...probably wasn't a good idea to be there period). Granddad ...

re: What are your trading strategies? - LSU0358
I don't trade individual stocks much, if at all. I trade futures of the SPX, Dow, Nasdaq, and R2K, USD index (DX) and EURUSD pair. On the commodity front I'll trade gold, platinum, oil, and very occasionally soybeans, wheat, or corn (these have to be a great setup and I use ratios of the prices co...

re: how should a company compensate an hourly employee for out of state training - LSU0358
Company should pay all expenses and his hourly time. 40 hours if that's the usual, or more if he works 50 to 60 hours. As to being compensated with an expense check on his next payday, I don't see a problem with that for a salaried position. For hourly, that's a tough one. A company card/expense...
