Running shoe recommendations?

I am in desperate need of new running shoes. I've been wearing the same Asics for a couple of years. Don't really care what brand, just something with some good support for running. My right shin has been getting sore immediatley after a run, don't know if its shin splints or whatever, but I think a new pair of kicks should help. What yall got?

I used to have the same issue with my Asics, switched to Brooks and the problem went away.

Go to Varsity Sports. Let them watch you run and then go with their recommendation.

This. I bought all my running shoes from them. They know their stuff, plus you'll be supporting a local business.

I'm a big runner, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone go wrong with the Brooks Ghost. It's an amazing shoe. It's the only shoe I've never gotten injured in.
For the love of God, don't get Nike Frees.

think ill do that this weekend, not trying to spend tons of cash on new shoes though... pretty reasonable?

My feet are narrow, so I tend to go Nike when I shop for running shoes, whether I'm on a path or cross-training.
I just bought a pair of Nike Free 3.0 Flyknit about a month ago. Zero complaints. Obviously wouldn't recommend for cross-training, though.

if you're saying that you had the same exact pair for two years, there's your # 1 problem. Running shoes typically start to break down and lose support after about 400 - 500 miles.

Have switched all my shoes (running and daily wear) to altra over the last few months and have been very happy.

Brooks Ghost, if you have neutral pronation.
Brooks Ravena, if you over pronate.
