When typing a word document do you use one space or two spaces after the period?

heated debate going on at the office vs the youngsters and oldsters as to what is the correct way.



the answer is one space.

For school papers, make the periods 14-16 font and it makes the paper a lot longer. Sucks I learned this at 31 years old

In elementary school I was taught 2 spaces. From late high school through college it was 1 space.

So, 1 space.

APA just changed their style back to 2 spaces after being 1 space for several years. Basically, it depends on what you are comfortable with or what your "style" guideline is.

It use to be two, now the norm is 1. I do 1.
