I'm going to get eaten alive on this one, but...

The first paranormal activity movie. Saw it at a midnight showing. Wife made me keep a lamp on for a week because we got home and the dog barked around 4am that night.

Movie wasn't the best, but it is something more believable than most horror films.

Also: Silent Hill. The movie and video game was creepy as hell. Hate driving in fog.

The scariest movies I've ever seen (like The Shining and The Exorcist) are up there mostly because I saw them when I was younger and more impressionable.

Horror films don't really do that to me now.

But if I had to list a recent film that disturbed the hell out of me, i'd say Kill List.

As a kid The Thing scared the shite out of me.
But the first time I was ever scared by a movie was Large Marge in PeeWee.

The Descent was scarier than any of those.....The Thing with Kurt Russell was close, Something Wicked This Way Comes in the scene where they are counting seconds between thunder strikes is as scary as it gets for a kid

I think what people think of as the "scariest movie you've ever seen" has a lot to do with how old you were when you first saw that movie. Traditional horror movies will never really frighten me the same way because I have become somewhat jaded towards a lot of it.

Point being, I was 9 when Event Horizon came out and probably about 10 when I caught it late night on cable. It was definitely one of the most jolting experiences I have ever had watching a movie. I tried to recapture it this past year. I barely had any jumps.

My brother and I had my sister so scared of IT, she wouldn't piss alone for like a month or two. We tormented her about it when she would tattle.

Poltergeist when I was a kid. Signs didn't scare me, but it sure did creep me the hell out for some reason.
