As a kid:

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - Damn Pedophiles
Wziard of Oz - Monkeys and the Witch's Laugh
Germlins - The Gremlin-Egg Hatching Scene tormented by dreams.
Poltergeist and It - One word: Clowns

Scared the crap out of me.

In a day and age where most movies rely on jumpy scare tactics and loud noises, I found "The Strangers" to be pretty freaky.
I thought it was pretty fresh too, but that it could have done more to intensify the ominous suspense.

This is why I don't recommend scary movies to people.

It's like a personal challenge to you people to not get scared.

If you can't get scared by some movies, you are not allowing yourself to be.

I don't sit there thinking "Im not gonna get scared...Im not gonna get scared."

I just realize these movies aren't real and are for entertainment. Im more than willing to get scared if the right movie comes along.

Cool, this thread. Again.

As always, if I have to pick one, I'll go with Jaws...if only for the very real fear it gave me about being in the ocean. Even though I love being in the water, I always have the idea of sharks in my head. Every time. And that's, in large part, due to Jaws.

Other movies may "scare" me more than jaws, but they are just movies so once I'm done I'm not really freaked out IRL. But Jaws and that fear has always stayed with me, because of the realness of shark danger I guess.

To this day I still get all weirded out by the tunnel scene in Willy Wonka.

Yep, it's why Jaws is in my Top 5 all time favorites. It forever affected me in a very real way.
