My wife can't even walk through the room when I'm watching these flicks. Covers her ears just to block out any dialogue.

Was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on a truly scary flick?

Don't scare easily/if at all but the Exorcist did a number on me when I was a kid.

I'm a complete wuss and can't watch scary movies. Not afraid to admit it. The last scary movie I watched was Blair Witch Project and I freaked myself out to the point I couldn't sleep that night I was so scared. Damn near pissed myself because I didn't want to walk down the hallway. And that was in damn High School.

In a day and age where most movies rely on jumpy scare tactics and loud noises, I found "The Strangers" to be pretty freaky.

I will add this one: After I saw "The Sixth Sense", I was hearing strange noises in my house at night for a solid week.

In no particular order:

The Shining
Halloween
The Ring (American Remake)
Blair Witch Project

Horror takes both a willingness to immerse yourself, and a lack of knowledge about what you are about to experience.

I agree the shining was creepy as hell.. I honestly don't think I've sat down and watched it from start to finish.. I still don't watch it alone and at night
