Redeem yourself, and rectify the recipe.

Is this gay pride week or something? Why are you so uppity and aggressive?

My lowly hetero person has done nothing to willfully hurt you.

I just reread the thread. I did this, and because nobody answered him straightforwardly, I replied to you, and a few other a-holes.

That said, he shouldn´t be looking to consume an Old Fashioned based upon seeing a TV series.

I am of an iron cast palate and stomach, and it´s not a drink I think interesting.

I will go out on a limb and say he will not consider it enjoyable, either.

You and Klump can still frick off, however.

Well shit, I guess I can't order an old fashioned any more, even though I've never seen this fricking show.

You can even make it with scotch, BTW LINK

I am sure TV or movies have never peeked your interest to try something. It's a good summer drink...If he likes it and continues to order who cares if his dad poured him the drink as a teenager or he saw Don draper tap a slut while drinking one.

You should evaluate your current state in life because it looks like you suck at life.

It's "piqued" your interest not "peeked".

Find a dive of a cocktail bar which has a man behind the bar that looks like your father or your grandfather to start with the drink.

1. Why are you bashing ME? I never said pathetic. Fight amongst your damned selves. Especially when "yourselves" started it.

2. Outdated? It IS called an Old Fashioned. Hell beer is outdated too I guess.

3. Mad Men is not just a TV series. It is pure awesomeness. So shut your whore mouth with that talk.

4. Not a young un. I am 40. Just never had one. Really was just here to ask about the liquor and brand that was commonly used.

Muddling either orange or cherry isnt necessary. Orange juice tends to be a little flabby, meaning a little too sweet and overpowering. Best to use simple syrup, brown liquor of your choice (even rum), and bitters. Garnish with an orange peel and cherry (optional).

Will try this tonight. Most all bars have Bitters right. We will be at a pub but it is a higher end pub. It has a pretty good draft beer selection to fall back on.

OF's will be great and I will have a time traveling night that will make the wife scowl. Or it will be swill and I will switch to beer.

I use rye sometimes and bourbon other times.. Depends on my mood. I usually don't muddle, but if I want something sweeter, I do. It's your drink, enjoy it the way you like it and frick what any other pretentious douches think.

I muddle a slice of orange peel. Get more flavor than just zesting but not overpowering. And I usually use Sazerac or Rittenhouse.

I consider it more of a cool weather drink; even a holiday drink. I will drink it anytime, however.

It is not outdated. It is hip (genuinely so) as a motherfricker.

Rye works fine. After all Old Fashioneds and Manhattans are first cousins, imo. Although, strictly speaking, I suppose Manhattans should only be served straight up.
