I do not see him yet. The levee looks dry and sunny from here. I may jog that after I put the boat up.

Hope you find him. Dogs are tough.

My border collie wouldn't come inside last night. She rather stay with the horses than inside warm with us

Good Luck

You find him?

I always leave a jacket at the spot where I last saw the dog. Every time I have found one lost it was laying on my jacket when I pulled up.

Hope you find him.

Sorry to hear this. They are smart dogs, so don't count them out.

Friend lost a GSP earlier this year at the deer camp. She always ran through the woods but came back. One time, she just didn't come back. He looked for a few days and figured she fell she got hurt or something and died and he was never going to find her. A week later, he got a call from a vet. Unfortunately, she did get hit by a car, but it was a week later and 15 miles away. Hopefully the dog can find its way to a good home until it gets back to you.

Done that too after driving Hwy 11 a couple extra times today. He may turn up yet.

Just seeing the map of where y'all were hunting sushi, being that close to hwy 11 I wouldn't count him out at all.

What parishes are in that area??

Check the Facebook pages for "lost pets of (whatever parish)"

They have several dogs posted on the Ascension one everyday and I think they have one for each parish.

I rode the area in my boat, walked that marsh ridge, jogged the levee between 90 and 11, rode 11 in my truck and asked at the truckstop/casino about a lost hunting dog. Nothing.
No doubt a smart dog could survive, but I think he left the immediate area.

I'll be driving that stretch of 11 (I-10 to Hwy 90, AKA Irish Bayou) for the next few days, going to and from work. I'll be on the lookout.

You may want to post about the dog on craigslist too. I was helping a friend track his dog down and put a notice on Craigslist just in case and about 30 minutes later I received a phone call someone had found him.

My dog just rolled around in the hose water, so it should be able to take a good bit of cold. He has also slept outside in 17° weather because he was soaking wet. When I got him up in the morning, he was ready to run.

They are pretty resilient

Yeah that's orleans parish, if he left immediate area he had help, has tags and a chip so if someone not planning on keeping him picked him up - they can find me pretty easy.

Have signs in key locations kinda hard to miss them,
Not many people use that area or roads that aren't there all the time
