yellow lines are loop we rode in boat over and again. yellow box is where we were hunting.

we walked most of that chunk of marsh looking...

my guess/hope is he ended up on high ridge - outlined by red line.

name is grizzly - GSP wearing a vest.

shite, just saw this. I sure hope someone picked him up and just haven't given you a call yet or a duck hunter finds him early this morning.

no duck hunters till wed.... area is open for hunting only on wed/thur sat/sun youths 15 and under only...

we searched beyond the point of exhaustion...

basically from about 9:00 till 5:00 with a short break for gas/food.

blew one whistle so much it quit working.

I have seen some crazy stuff with dogs in my years...

saw one go about 5 miles across Nola and find way home....
saw em snake bit, alligator bit, deer stomped, bobcat scratched, coon drowned, trap caught, poisoned, shot(on purpose and accident) this one makes no sense.. .dog was RIGHT behind us and freaking vanished...

the only thing is if you know pointers....if he was chasing something... he followed.. till whenever... were LOTS of hunters in area could have been confused by this and ended up going home with someone else... which is what we are hoping

what's killing folks at our house is not knowing.

on dry ground he is a big running dog about as big as GSPs get he has no qualms about running 500 yards out.... if son is there he ALWAYS finds son.

he has tags and a chip... but last night and tonight awfully cold for a GSP even with a vest...

nope...with that wind it ain't safe in me boat... and honestly.. I am so sore and beat up from tromping yesterday.. I got no business going back out today. Choupique II was a little worried about me yesterday at the end of our searches

hunted with a USFWs enforcement guy recently (his dog was one from pic i sent you)...(from other end of state)called him last night - he thinks the world of son.. so.. he is calling who he knows in that area and prodding....

plus I got some unflexible appts and commitments today.

Years back I had a Boxer at the camp in the marsh below Amelia. He took off while sighting guns in, he spent 11 days in the marsh before we found him. Had some battle wounds and was around 20lbs lighter. Good luck finding him man!!

At least he has the vest on, that will help.

Best guess is that he'll go to the nearest rodaway. Good luck.

It's a good idea to ride the roads at first light, many hunting dogs have been found curled up by the side of the road first thing in the morning. Trying to find one is the second worst thing about having hunting dogs.

That...and likely where they launched/parked the truck to go in. I'd drop a coat there.

I haven't thought of the dropping a coat idea. If it was me I'd make a huge arse circle where I thought he could be and drop pieces of clothing and check that everyday or so. I know it seems like alot but for me and my dogs I don't think I could handle it with them being out in the cold alone.

As warm as it was yesterday, I hope a gator didn't get him.

Even if gators are out I don't think they feed if the water temp is less than 65 degrees...

Best of luck man, I hope someone picked him up and calls you. I don't think i could handle my dog being lost. I'd have to find a way to hack into a government satellite or something.

This makes me sick. Hoping and praying for a good turn out Sushi. I have definitely seen good endings to these stories, probably more often than not. Those dogs are extremely smart and have a very strong will to survive.
