I said I wasn't going to address you again but you have got to be talking about some other book.

This one is all about living for God instead of self

Your link isn't working. I'm using the reading plan where you read from 4 different parts if the Bible each time and go from there. I like being able to read from Old Testament and New Testament. I still have my study Bible at home that I can read more in depth if I wish as well(I like the notes at the bottom of each page going into more depth of many of the verses).

Yeah, OK.

You didn't read the book and yet you are surmising what it's about.

That's not at all what it says, and in fact, pretty much the opposite.

Honestly, that's pretty much what I thought it was going to be, but it was quite a bit deeper than that.

all things equal, as far as the Bible, no person who committed suicide went to heaven...Saul, Judas, etc.

So Christ's sacrifice was powerful enough to forgive every sin except for suicide? That makes sense...

that works

here's the thing, read the Bible yourself, don't trust ANYBODY that think they cant write a book that explains it better than God already does in the Bible.

If the word is divinely inspired it doesn't need anyone else to interpret it

Give it up.

They have already determined what is in the book without cracking the cover.

Must be a gift...

The fact you're dismissing the importance if Faith is concerning

re: Pastor Rick Warren's son commits suicide

You are completely contradicting your own message that your salvation is completely dependent on your faith as opposed to works when you say that people who commit suicide are going to hell

The sin isn't the issue. The heart condition is the problem. If you quit believing it becomes the issue.

re: Pastor Rick Warren's son commits suicide

Paige, I love you but there's a difference in works and faith. Your salvation is solely dependent on faith. The problem with suicide is of you give up on that faith

it's really hard for me not to say something about your lack of comprehension

You have read as much of my posts as you have this book. I am fully aware that's it's all about faith and has nothing to do with works. But you can still put forth the effort to grow as a Christian. Do you think you should stay stagnant and not strive to become better?

See, CR, this is what I mean. You do in fact judge the heart of one who commits suicide, despite saying you don't. And despite the fact that you can not know their heart.

re: Pastor Rick Warren's son commits suicide

Paige, the basic point is you believe you have to work for improvement in your walk. You have to earn, you have to do X to see a result in your walk and relationship.

I say you have to do nothing. Just believe. Put your faith in what Christ did at the Cross. There's nothing to work on. If you have your faith and eyes set only on Christ. He makes the change.

re: Pastor Rick Warren's son commits suicide

I'm not judging their heart. God will if they give up on their faith. Whether they gave up on that faith, or quit believing...only God knows.
