B. There will be 72 hours of voting this round(s).
C. We have 8 initial groups
D. Each Group has 4-5 breweries

Speeding things up a bit with three groups this weekend. Vote for 2/group. 6 total.

: :
Group 4

Pretty Things
Sam Adams
Sierra Nevada
Squatters/Wasatch

Group 5
Anchor
Brash
Brooklyn
Harpoon
Pike

Group 6

: :

Update (1/12 0100)

Pretty Things (8/12)
Bayou Teche (2/12)
Sam Adams (2/12)

G5: Brooklyn (11/12)
Anchor (11/12)

Jolly Pumpkin (9/12)
Full Sail (3/12)

Disclaimer: This only includes American beers available in Louisiana. Goodluck.

I know this style/format isn't how some invisioned it, but it will work all the same. It allowed me to include all breweries available in Louisiana without 16 initial rounds.

Round 1 Winners:
G1: Green Flash (38/39), North Coast (25/39)
G2: Stone (33/34), Nola (32/34)
G3: Ommegang (31/34), Lazy Mag (27/34)

Notables:
G1: Parish (15/39)
G3: Moylans (8/34)

ETA: Some granddaddies of craft brewing in those groups.

ETA2: Appears I need to try some Pretty Things.

Bayou Teche & Sierra Nevada

Anchor & Harpoon

Full Sail & Abita (yeah, I know, should probably vote for Bear Republic, but I actually like Abita's brews and really enjoyed my first taste of Oyster Stout last Friday)

Group 4 - Pretty Things / Sierra Nevada - I don't really see PT mentioned much on here but their stuff is excellent

Group 5 - Anchor / Brooklyn

Group 6 - Bear Republic / Jolly Pumpkin

I think Squatters and Full Sail got bad draws. I would have put them in Group 5 in place of Harpoon and Pike. That would have made for an interesting group.

imo, neither of these breweries belong in the top 16. First rounders usually aren't very interesting.

I was surprised to see Moylans not make it though, which is a much better brewery than squatters/Wasatch and full sail. Again, just my opinion.

I agree with that. I was just thinking that would have made for an interesting group

Yeah, I commented about that. I've never had any Moylans but it looked like they had a solid lineup. Also, I think everyone wanted some "locals" to advance.

I think it was because lots of us really like Timber Beast.

Same here. I find Timber Beast to be more interesting, different and desirable than anything in the Moylan's lineup.
