So, I am getting him a few things already, but I wanted to get him something from the kitchen and I am drawing a blank.
I am going to make a few different salsas for him, but i wanted to get him something that he can cook himself since he enjoys it so much... like some spices (he loves cooking asian foods especially thai) but i dont cook asian anything so i dont know what that means.
help me.

I think a nice Thai cookbook and a few of the special items like palm sugar, tamarind paste, coconut milk and some thai peppers would be a nice type of "gift basket".

Why not a cookbook for a particular style of cooking he likes?

https://www.wokshop.com/products_main.html
This shop is amazing. Check out he woks and knives and cleavers and chopping blocks...Prices are amazing. Real deal stuff, but you may not be able to get your order shipped in time for Christmas. I bought my wife a wok from there almost 10 years ago and it's been amazing. Probably never need to replace it.
ETA: Check out the Hard to Find items. Too cool.

Call Penzeys spices 1-800 number, and pick up something from them. The best spices sold, and given the size of the packages of most the cheapest stuff on the market. The crap at the store is just that , crap.

Get him a nice sushi-making kit.
Or maybe a really nice set of knives.
My SO cooks constantly and has commented that "any good chef has a good knife" or something like that.
