Good to see you know what actually is wrong with the animal. Glad it wasn't something more serious. Yeah I hate when I suspect I know what it is...and turns out it is exactly that...and I still have to pay the doc. However there's peace of mind knowing it's nothing more than a snake bite. FWIW I had a Golden retriever mix that his ear would swell up...we'd express it...drain it...and then it would come back. Later found out there was a mocassin (small) biting his ear. Totally screwed up.

We're filthy with them. I've only seen one copperhead there in my life. It's all swamp. I didn't think snake, figured it was to cold for them to be active. All the catahoulas I had would get snake bit in the neck and never felt pain. Some dogs are just tough. I would have given it another week. It would have eventually bust.
