re: What is your "Grail" weapon? - NASA_ISS_Tiger
Let's see. A "matched pair" .44 Rem Mag lever action rifle and a Super Blackhawk. I know the only thing the same is the caliber. A Springfield M-1A (might be coming off the list sooner than later) That's probably the start. ...

re: Lately girlfriend has been nagging constantly - NASA_ISS_Tiger
I know all women nag, but lately it seems my girlfriend has taken it to a new level. Some examples: I don't like the way you walk. (Apparently my toes stick out a little when I walk) I don't like your accent sometimes. Why aren't you always happy? You didn't really clean the apartment y...

re: *Update* F150 battery dying overnight - NASA_ISS_Tiger
2000 didn't require programming. Part was $250...I did the work myself...after about a 1/2 quart of blood from bleeding so much...lots of sharp edges around the fuse panel to pull it out. It sucks, but do-able....

re: *Update* F150 battery dying overnight - NASA_ISS_Tiger
I had the same thing happen to my 2000 F150. The GEM (General Electronic Module) that controls a LOT of stuff in the cab had shorted out due to a leak in the windshield. As a result at random times the 4x4 light would illuminate (but the truck wasn't nor went into 4WD mode...light would just illum...

re: Pound for pound, who is the bigger badass, an alligator gar or - NASA_ISS_Tiger
Man I sure do hate a damn choupique. Only thing good about that is the name of the area I'm from and the Bayou just south of where I was raised. Otherwise, I hate them damn things. Think you got a bass...get it up to the boat..and DAMN that thing's got TEETH....
Time to start silently documenting her work time vs. chat time. HR loves documented activity.
This. I agree completely. Build a case for an inept employee. Not to mention she needs to learn not to throw stones living a glass house. Sounds like she was a "silver spoon" spoiled ki...

re: Learn me about radio communications - NASA_ISS_Tiger
I literally bought the book from Rat Shack (Radio Shack) on Friday...and took the test on Saturday. That was Tech-no Code. Then they dropped the code reqmt and I easily upgraded to General. Haven't had time to upgrade to EXTRA, but it's in work. That one takes a bit more time of studying due t...

re: Learn me about radio communications - NASA_ISS_Tiger
Yes, you can use receive only function of a radio (like a scanner) to monitor transmissions. Just don't transmit without a license. Different radios broadcast on different freqs. Most handhelds are single or double band. For instance the most popular HT (Handi Talkie) Ham radios are 2M/70cm st...

Yep. As an amateur radio operator myself...I know. That's just the reason I wouldn't get one. People were just saying how cool it is to have one...I was just saying the negative side of the statement....

re: Learn me about radio communications - NASA_ISS_Tiger
I don't care what you did or didn't do. All I know is you don't want the guys in the gray vans rolling up and issuing you a ticket or taking your stuff. 10M can be modified illegallyto get 11M (CB band). Yeah the Mexicans in Mexico run a LOT of power...but the FCC can't ruin their ...

re: Learn me about radio communications - NASA_ISS_Tiger
My CB @ 35w would listen and talk around 15 miles normally. On a really good day, 30. Sometimes I'd randomly pick up stuff from around the country also. Amped is another story. You want a stationary setup or mobile? They do make small CB radios that are basically just a microphone that ...

re: SCUBA diving locations - NASA_ISS_Tiger
No, I did it when I was a kid and used to enjoy nitrogen narcosis. "God protects fools and drunks" It was a very stupid thing to do. Like I said before, I don't like diving deep. 30 feet is ideal for colors and bottom time. I don't like having to use a light source to see colors.
...
