The whole ordeal with the phone calls was stupid. Very stupid, actually, and completely unnecessary. I was waiting for Lori to tell him that Shane was there and she was sitting on his undead penis right then and there.

Also, I know this is a little thing, but it kinda bugged me...Rick's been hunting/killing zombies up close for like a solid day within the depths of the prison, but when he went back to their cell block to "check on Carl," he looked like he had just gotten out of the shower and put on brand new clothes. Also, the baby had new clothes on as well (though I chalked that up to Glenn finding some on one of his runs).

I kinda get why they put this in there. It seemed more to be a symbolic thing to show Rick getting closure and accepting what had happened to Lori and moving on, hence the new clean look after he leaves that room

i'm not sure this whole Gov vs Rick thing is gonna turn out well, nor do I really understand it. Given Ricks fragile state on his phone calls of looking for somewhere safe, he'd prob just assume stay at the Gov compound. But this Gov dude seems to be seriously threatened by anyone with any kind of power. Not looking forward to this showdown.

Also, Michonne is gonna talk a lot of shite about the Governor, so the group will already consider him evil before even meeting him. I think they will assume that Glen and Maggie have been captured by the Governor and will begin a rescue mission right at the end of part 1 of this season.

I took the last 10 seconds of his "phone call" to mean that he is over his little eruption. He realized nobody was actually on the phone and straightened up. Now he is ready to be the leader again.

Agreed. I'd bet that this season ends with Rick's crew and Gov's crew coming face to face, and cliffhanging on what happens next. It'll be Rick vs. Gov, Merle vs. Darryl, Andrea realizing she wants her group (and Michonne) back but also being pissed that they left her, Maggie vs. shitty bow and arrow chick, etc.

True but it's a latent infection that doesn't manifest itself until you die. What's a bit inconsistent is how people die after being bitten. It's as if the virus become active after you get bit.

When the Governor sees Maggie, I have a feeling he will be less enamored with Andrea.

I am interested to see how Rick's group attempts to attack Woodberry. In real life, it would be a pretty simple invasion. Rick's group has at least one high powered rifle, so they could set up outside the wall and shoot the guards from long range (or just walk up and stab bow and arrow girl). It's not like the people on the wall are super attentive. They have a pretty damn boring job.

I'm sure they'll do something complicated and stupid though.

I think people dying lends itself more to the fact that without modern medicine available, missing a huge chunk of skin anywhere on you is bad. It's about 100% chance it's going to get infected and you're probably going to bleed out.
So I don't think it's necessarily that when you get bitten the virus goes through and kills you. It's just that because of the situation and circumstance, it's much easier to die from even just a small bite. And as soon as you die the zombie virus reanimated you

She really is awful. I'm not saying I would definitely hit the target, but if I did, my arrows wouldn't just bounce off.

I've only shot a bow a couple of times, and there is no way that I could hit a moving target in the head. Nevertheless, if I did make contact, I am 100% that my arrow would pierce dead flesh A crossbow would be more my thing.

Does it bother anyone else that Michonne's sword just slices through people like they're made of butter? Walkers I can almost understand because they've died and rotted a bit, but living humans shouldn't just fall apart like that. Slicing through bone like it's not even there.

For someone who's father thought she should go to the Olympics, her aim was a lil shaky. Crossbows are more apt for that job.

There's been a Mythbuster's ep about Samurai swords and how possible that kind of stuff is, but I don't remember what they found.

Maybe she's just really good as keeping a sharp edge on it?

They need to read up on Dick WInters of Easy Company on how to take out a defended fortified position. Saying that reminded me though - I was kind of surprised they were low on amo as that is one thing you think they'd have a pretty good supply of in a prison, if even just off the guards.

Pretty sure they said most of the guards up and left when the shite started to hit the fan and just locked them in. Only a few stayed back

On a show about Zombies?

Come on man.

The ammo bothers me more because they always "just have enough"

At least they made mention of it last night saying they're running low.

I can't believe people are shitting on the phone calls and comparing the show to LOST. At this point it is obvious this show questions how would we cope in an apocalyptic universe, and attempts to show us the breakdown through Rick, the everyday man. It's an evolution story that's being told at its peak of change right now.

What happens when for the first time, the guy who was forced to lead a group suddenly lost his own loved ones for real this time.? Answer. He goes insane and hears voices. It isn't smoke monster like magic, it's a plausible outcome.
