You’re not living comfortably in Lake Tahoe at $200k/year

Living in Lake Tahoe is living comfortably.

And Tahoe isn’t Aspen. South Lake Tahoe is pretty affordable.

Wife and I split time in Idaho. There’s parts I would never want to live in and two places I like a lot. For us a place has to have an airport very close by (10 miles or so), a college, decent hospitals, and a walkable downtown.

I suspect most of the people the saying Idaho, Montana, Tenn, etc are looking for something much more rural than Boise.

You'll have to move far enough out where there are few stores, public transportation etc. You'll be safe for awhile in those areas.

Martha’s Vineyard might be the only safe place left, they boot the poors immediately.

There was a nice country feel in the Swiss and French alps, so probably there.

Used to say somewhere in Colorado.

As I've gotten older, give me a house in the keys with a 50 ft catamaran.

Orcas Island

Beautiful place. We spent three days out there once in a mom and pop motel, in the next room down from the nicest group of Hells Angels anyone might ever want to meet (yes - actual Hells Angels). They were actually pretty nice guys. I always wondered how cold/snowy it got in the winter. I could ride the ferry back and forth three times a day. I did basic at Ft. Lewis Tacoma, and it got pretty cold there.

Where would I live? I might move back to Mt. Home, AR, if we could find a house on the water on Norfork or Bull Sholes.

Hey, wife and I will have two days there this summer. What would you suggest? We were thinking just explore the town, float the river, and get a hike in. Right track or not? Wild Rose good for dinner? Thanks!

Also meant to say that Crater Lake is only about an hour or so South of Bend and the Painted Hills are only about an hour North. But you might want to save those for another trip, if you're only going to be here for a couple of days.

Smith Rock is a beautiful spot and only about 20 minutes away.
