OK thanks for saving me the time looking it up. I know we didn't lose too many games with him starting.
I don't know anyone who would blame either of the 2, 2005 losses on him, or Auburn 2006.
I won't say Florida 06 but I'll just give it for argument's sake.

How did he get the 24 on the Wonderlic, then?
Did his agent sneak in as him?
It's amazing watching people post and believe shite they heard other people say while dismissing actual facts.
How did he have the same score as mahomes if he couldn't read?

the best arm he’s ever seen was Jamarcus Russell.
Belichek said that honor belongs to another LSU QB in Bert Jones. Said he would want him at QB, just as much as he would Brady due to his arm strength

Honestly....anyone that says Jruss wasn't a great qb for lsu... I just know I can dismiss their football opinion. Raiders jruss won't ever diminish what lsu jruss was.

FWIW, I actually saw him read the back of an NCAA game box while waiting to get it on opening night. I thought he was a DE (he cut in front of everyone and was obviously an athlete of some kind. This was his redshirt year).

The best was in real time watching idiots on here argue with me and defend Troy Smith when I said JR had the best QB season in 2006

Didn’t Russell score the all time low on the Wonderlic test?

Not a recipe for a national title.
I don't believe he ever won a title at any level. Great physical tools, but that is all. He went as far as a great arm and great team mates would carry him.

You mean the kids that say Brady Qui n was gonna be great in the nfl? If it was worth a frick he wouldn't be working in the nba

The Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test (formerly Wonderlic Personnel Test) is an assessment used to measure the cognitive ability and problem-solving aptitude of prospective employees for a range of occupations
People claiming he could barely read while scoring the same as mahomes and better than Favre.
Just stop brother...
Jruss didn't have problems reading a defense or make big mistakes while playing for lsu...
Again, his qb play was considered the gold standard before burrow.
He only held single season records of passing tds, completion % and qb rating at a top 15 alltime program.
He is #3 alltime in passing tds while only playing 3 years.
He is #2 alltime in completion %.
He is 4th all time in totals offensive yards while only playing 3 years.

JaMarcus Russell is going to immediately energize that fanbase, that football team -- on the practice field, in that locker room. Three years from now you could be looking at a guy that's certainly one of the elite top five quarterbacks in this league. -mel kiper
quote:
The workout Russell had was Star Wars. It was unbelievable." Then-Tampa Bay Bucs coach Jon Gruden
quote:
This year, I can't get over how good and talented JaMarcus Russell is. It just blew me away. If I had the first, second, third, fourth, fifth pick in that draft, I would be tearing apart his personal life trying to figure out whether or not I could trust this kid with $10-million ... From a physical skill set perspective, I've never seen a college quarterback with more ability than Russell. You put the tape on and it's frightening.- mike mayock
quote:
I've never seen a kid that big who can sit there and just have people hanging on him and make the throws he can make. He reminds me a little bit of Daunte Culpepper, but a little bigger. I'm sure he's going to continue to be a great player." -- Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak
quote:
The film that we've watched has impressed more and more. The guy can wing it but seems to have that real feel for the game, and a presence. He looks like he could come into any system and be ready.'' -- Then-Detroit Lions coach Rod Marinelli
quote:
JaMarcus Russell, my man. The Raiders finally get their big arm. And he's a good kid, strong kid, smart kid. He'll be a big-time player. If I'm the Raiders, that's who I pick. That's pretty easy." -- FOX's Terry Bradshaw
So please tell us more about these boneheaded plays that were readily seen prior to Oakland. Multiple NFL coaches and scouts saying Jruss film was amazing.

All anybody has to do is watch any of the interviews JRuss gave post career to find out what happened in Oakland. He doesn’t dodge responsibility but for him to bust and flame out like he did it took an organizational failure and other personal situations he openly explains in detail. What’s sad is the poster you’re responding to and people like him don’t want to know better. They don’t want the ignorance they spew exposed. Narrative > facts is how these guys roll.

It's also sad that the low wonderlic score narrative started here. For some wearing that bama boy necklace was enough to write him off forever.

I didn’t even want to enter this thread, y’all brought real facts - against the opinions.
Prior to Joe, JR was the best LSU QB.

Personally I’d still take Hodson after JB. I can’t imagine the numbers he’d put up in a modern offense but I can’t fault you for going with JR.
