Take it for what it's worth but, strong rumors afloat in Michigan that Iowa's Kirk Ferentz has been offered the head coaching job and will accept it.
Scouts, Rivals, and Michigan's best online source, MGOBLUE are all reporting on the story.
Take it for what it's worth. I'm sure many of you will be glad if this comes true.
Les stays in Baton Rouge.

will yall atleast take Bo Pelini?

I'll be glad if this hits the general press ASAP and becomes final.
I still think some of the Arkie loss came from coaching questions.

So it wasn't a hoax played by some Iowa fans on your rivals board?

Yep, but kinda scary for you guys that Carr is still going to have that much of a hand in the program? Just asking?

One question...why? Why the hell would UM want Ferentz??? Guy can't recruit out of Iowa vicinity, and hasn't done much in a while.
Posted on 11/25/07 at 10:41 pm to WolverineFan
don't you read zeedustins post, KF is going to turn it down and it is Miles for UM. Done deal.
Posted on 11/25/07 at 10:41 pm to PaisanTiger
My question exactly! WTF? I think the Arky loss hurt Miles more than we know. Carr didn't want him and when he lost...the rest gave in and now they are pullin some buy from freakin Iowa....

The "why's" don't matter. As long as they don't try to pull our guy away it's fine with me. If anything, Les will be bitter about not being offered and take it out on every opponent we play from now on.

From what scouts and mgoblue are reporting now, nope.

KF has gotten the offer for sure. Stories say he will take stories saying he will decline.
Only he and his lawyers know.
Tomorrow we will all know.

Why Ferentz though? Makes little sense.

Lloyd Carr brought Michigan a national title. Not even Bo could manage that.
I like Lloyd. He's a good man and good recruiter. He's a terrible game day coach and we don't have to worry about that anymore.
Posted on 11/25/07 at 10:44 pm to WolverineFan
You are better off with Ferentz.
Posted on 11/25/07 at 10:46 pm to WolverineFan
fwiw don't see it anywhere on mgoblue

Bo never won a national title? I didn't know that.

For the ones questioning Ferentz' coaching ability, he has done a remarkable job at Iowa.
Michigan in a way, recruits itself. We've hired several assistants from outside of Michigan who have helped us recruit nationally. For example, DC Ron English, a former Cal player who has really helped Michigan bring in top recruits like Donovan Warren.
2005 Capital One Bowl. I know it was a fluke play at the end but, Iowa out played a much much much more talented LSU team for 3 quarters.
I think Kirk is a good coach.

Bo never won at title, never played for a title, and was something like 5-11 in bowl games I wanna say.
