He's teared up numerous times while giving speeches & press conferences when reminiscing over his 10 years here. He watched his family grow up in Baton Rouge and with the success he's had at LSU, I think he truly considers Louisiana home. I mean shite, didn't his whole family move to BR (mom, siblings, etc)?

He loves the culture of LSU and Louisiana - I'm 99% confident he stays; however, there's always that 1%

You realize when they hired Rich Rod, they were paying near the top and why pay a Midmajor coach top money? They paid his staff according to their history, not because they are cheap.

So what you are saying is that Michigan hasn't hired a big time HC away from an elite program?
But now you think they will?

Legitimate.

2007 had more than half the players from OOS and was littered with his players. 2011. 7 fricking years after saban left. He had nothing to do with that.

Key leaders in 2007 (Dorsey, Flynn, Doucet, Hester, Pittman, Zenon, Jackson, Steltz, etc.). All Miles' guys, right?

I never said Les didn't win a title that year, but I am looking at when his fingerprints took over the program, and that started in 2008.

That is my problem with people claiming Les is LSU's greatest coach.

History would show otherwise. He's way up there on the list.

he also wrote a love letter to BR, which his supporters felt was on par with a danielle steele erotica book.

He's never accomplishing that, and people need to accept it. With Saban at Bama, Les is done being the "greatest" LSU coach. Saban proves it, unfortunately, that he was and is the best LSU coach ever. Miles is very good, but outside his first 3 sesaons, he's no better than Saban was here in his 5.

It's not hard to realize people find new homes and consider new places home.
Do you think Scott Cochran is going to come running back if LSU offered him a strength and conditioning position here?

I love the people who scoff at the idea that they will go after top targets. An athletic director would be committing professional negligence if he didn't at least kick the tires regarding top level coaches as to whether they want to come to Michigan. Now, they are very unlikely to get them, but they need to at least kick the tires.

Joe Schad @schadjoe
Jim Hackett says it's time to retire the phrase "Michigan man." Says it's about selflessness, competitive spirit, not cutting corners.

I don't think anyone thinks that Michigan won't at least contact these coaches, but all of them are very unrealistic IMO, but especially the Harbaugh brothers. Any Michigan fan who actually thinks there is more than a .1% chance of landing either of them is delusional.

My guess is it will be Addazio or Fitzgerald.

two of these are national "brands"
two of these are not

it's 2014...you don't have to be a national brand to compete.

This is likely a dream list. Other possible candidates will come up soon.

BTW miles would be an idiot to leave LSU one of the top programs in the country (don't listen to the rant) to leave for a fading Michigan program who hasn't been good in years.
