There's lies, damn lies, and statistics. You prove it.

Since 2007 he is 81-24 (77%). 2 SEC championships, 2 NC appearances and 1 NC. Should we try other years too?

The greatest LSU coach ever is judged by his success at LSU. Miles tops that lists.

Some of you need to read. I'm not suggesting that is going to happen, but just that Miles may be thinking that when comparing to the opportunity at Michigan.

He can think to HIMSELF, I can go rebuild, or I can stay here and win another title and secure a legacy.

And despite everything you said, if he wins another title, that will make 2 plus a title game appearance, making him the greatest coach in LSU history. I'm not even his biggest fan, and I'd admit that. I don't think there's much debate.

Being goofy is one thing. Having a bipolar breakdown and kicking a kid off of the practice field screaming "just because you believe in God doesn't make you better than me" is completely different. And that's not even close to scratching the surface of his bs

Maybe. I think he is way more likely to stay than Cam. Les could retain Mattison at UM.

Also, if you put any stock in the "Cam replaces him when he leaves" theory that some believe got Cam to come here in the first place, doesn't that make it more likely for Miles to consider making the move?

Sure, he loves LSU, no one can question that fact. How better, in his mind should he take the UM job, to leave the LSU program than to have his close friend and very competent coach succeed him in BR?

People also need to accept that we don't have Saban. There is only 1 coach having Saban like results, and that is...you guessed it, Saban.

No other coach comes close to his success, but for some reason we expect those results.

Where did I say we did? In the end, for all his great accomplishments, Les has as much hardware in 10 years as Saban did in 5. The point is that while Les is a great coach, he isn't LSU's greatest seeing as he took over a team ripe for championships while others did not.

That is my problem with people claiming Les is LSU's greatest coach. He's simply not that right now, and little proves he'll improve on his current results.

During Miles' interview, Charlie Weems, Stanley Jacobs, & Bertman asked Miles about the Michigan situation and if the opportunity arose, would he ever consider leaving LSU for Michigan?

Miles' response was something like, "Why would anyone ever leave LSU for Michigan?" His answer essentially boosted himself over the likes of Petrino, Nutt, Del Rio, & Fisher.

eta: I'm almost confident that Miles will retire at LSU. He's a very loyal man and knows these next few years could be very very special

I wouldn't take any list you see floating out there too seriously. Sites that publish these types of lists and "information" might have some insider information, but more than likely are trying to get readers/subscribers. They know how big our fan base and how much we would love if a Harbaugh actually came, so I think that's why they continue to include them on the list.

Not at all. I took a reasonable range. Sorry if I don't completely hand him results from a gift wrapped team loaded with talent his first 3 years. He did his part, no question, but those weren't Les' teams. Since 2008, it has been 90%+ his players, thus why I looked at it.

Want to compare what LSU was when he took it over? I'd say a team coming off 2 seasons combined with a 7-15 record compared to a team coming off 22-4 plus an SEC title and NC title is a bit different.

How about Dietzel? He took over a team that was 13-16-3 the previous 3 years, and took them to an NC and SEC title in 4 years.

Miles is a very good coach, but ignoring circumstances is why very few critics of his can take the sunshine pumpers seriously.

Disagree. They would def want Cam with him(another michigan man) and would be ok with paying for Chavis IMHO as well

Les gets paid 4.3 million. Chavis gets paid 1.1 million, Cam Cameron will make 1.3 million this year for a total of just them 6.7 million. Frank Wilson also gets paid 600,000.

Hoke got paid 2.8 million. Nussmeier is being paid 830,000 and Mattison is being paid 750,000 for a total of 4.38.

So no including Frank Wilson, they would have to AT LEAST 2.32 million more (not including whatever buyout they have with other coaches). That price doesn't include what raise they would have to give Miles.

They already have been getting elite top 10 classes with Hoke. So check again

Just because they were "ranked" top 10, doesn't mean their class was actually that good. Unless you want to argue their problem was that Michigan can't improve the talent and train them, but if that is the case then Michigan better not hope for a good qb play.

Are you under the impression that Michigan doesnt have money?

Yep. Ya know, Hoke being a terrible coach, and having a pretty weak staff. Kind of why he gone.

Do I need to go into a further breakdown on the difference in salaries, or was my other one good enough?

You do realize they don't necessarily have to give him a raise, right? Lots of people would be willing to "go home" for the same money they make.

It's not like Les should be worried about money at this point in his career.

You think because Michigan paid less means they don't have the ability to pay what LSU did?

No, I am implying that Michigan is not going to want to spend that much money on Miles AND his coordinators.
And it is not like it is a stretch to think they won't spend 4.5 million + for a HC this time, seeing how they haven't broken 3 million for a HC yet.

I'd take my chances playing OSU every year as opposed to Alabama, Auburn, and the rest of the West teams that will take turns making a run.
