If you're CSU why on earth would you budge on the buyout,
The only reason I could think of is why would you want to keep a coach from leaving that really wants to go to Florida? It's one think to convince a guy to stay but to force one to stay when he wants to be elsewhere would be adversarial at best.

What if you think Nebraska or UM will foot the whole 7.5 though?

Then that would be mean the CSU didn't budge on the buyout. Not sure of your point????

Here's hoping the SEC's eventual balanced schedule isn't too far away.

LSU fans who think this is a Meh hire are the same ones who think we can get anyone we want. McElwain is a good hire.

Wait and see who the next field house or training facility is named after.

I'm boldly predicting UF and UT to be atop the East next season.

Pretty boring hire, but can't argue with the year-on-year improvement at CSU

It's not bold. Both are on the rise, but I predict it will take a season to get things settled at florida before McElewain does any damage.

It's Tennessee and UGA next year.

Dang it, was really hoping we could dodge the bullet and get a younger and far, far more proven head coach in Rodriguez instead going for a massively unproven guy again (wow no conference titles and 0-3 vs Boise, awesome).

This is the product of impatience, McElwain has 3 seasons in the Mountain West and at 52 he's older than Rich Rod, given the short track record this could be our Brady Hoke or Dan Hawkins.

This is exactly why LSU needs to hold onto Les Miles.
