fyi Miles thinks the poor offensive performance is a result of qb and ol play...not play calling or not offensive philosophy..

play calling= crowton

offensive philosophy= miles

you can't fire the players, so we need a new HC. i'm cool with that.

no question. both lines were putrid. The real question is "why"? Did we miss on evaluating them (recruiting), have they not been developed regarding technique (coaching), are they weak and/or out of shape (strenght & conditioning). I would like to know the answers.

quite possible this is the case...however, someone has to take responsibility for improving QB and o-line play, and adjust the playcalling as necessary to offset weaknesses with the available players.

I might think hitting a driver 270 yards over water is the right play on a given hole, but since I probably could only do that 1 time out of 20, continuing to do it every round is stupid...as is going back to the range every day trying to "get that fixed".

The reason I want him gone, though, is because he also seems incapable of adjusting to inexperienced QBs.

yeah, this is my major issue with GC as well.

I'm still sticking to there will be a new OC. I haven't heard anything otherwise, but if I do I'll let you know.

no not opinion. It's based on the fact that he has talked to some possible candidates. Nothing is official until it is actually done, but I'm about positive there will be a change.

So Miles won't let the new O.C. pick his own staff?

The OC's staff? They are the HC's staff, not the OC's.

I see this a lot, but don't understand that thinking.

It's always the Head Coach's show, because its his job on the line. I could be wrong, but it seems that the OC's have that power because they often come in after the entire offensive staff is gone.

It's a pretty standard reporting hierarchy. All offensive position coaches report the the Offensive coordinator and then he reports to the head coach. (i am assuming of course)

If I were hired in to a coordinating position by a CEO I would expect to be able to make changes to my staff because my staff will directly effect how my responsibilities get done.

What if the new O.C. doesn't see eye to eye with one of his appointed staff members? How do you coordinate an offense if you have less authority over the staff because you didn't hand pick them?
