Three teams that went 8-4, with two losses coming on the road, and a close game to a 5-7 team on the road during the second week of the season?

WTF, Brian Kelly? Forget him. Let him take the ND job and bomb. LSU's next head coach needs a proven record at a major program. No experiments or OTJ training.

Yes. He just gives me the Dinardo vibe of playing down (or up) to the competition.

Who had a better record:
a) Miles at Okie St?
b) Harbaugh at Stanford?

I'm too lazy to find this stuff, but can anyone rind out the defensive rankings of Kelly's teams? CMU and Cinncy.

Roaad, seriously, why are you hitting so hard on a guy who coaches at Stanford? Since when did Stanford become a standard bearer in I-A? OSU doesn't have nearly the obstacles to get recruits in as Stanford. Why even bring up Miles. The man turned around a pathetic program and he's still getting ragged on because he went 8-4?

What do you think it would be with Chief and Ron Cooper at Cincy?

The only difference is we knew exactly what were getting with the Chief. He was SEC tested. He still makes the same mistakes he did at UT, but at least he knew what SEC defenses were all about. Has Kelly ever shown that he is even remotely defensive minded?

I'm not bagging on him. I think he is a good coach, and I stated I would be content to have him. That said, Kelly is just clearly better in my mind.

Because I'm unconvinced Harbaugh would be THAT much of an upgrade over what we have.

And not to mention, Harbaugh did what he did with a Freshman QB.

Why does a coach need to be defensive minded if you make good defensive coaching hires (see Urban Meyer)?

Not to mention Kelly lost a lot of credibility with me when he threw his kicker under the bus in his halftime interview. That was pathetic. I really hope he apologized to that kid.

Stanford:

Defense- 85......396.5 ypg

LSU:

Offense- 108......309.67 ypg

And once again we're talking about a guy with an 8-4 record at Stanford with wins at the colliseum and against OU. But it's all just a big circle jerk, we're not getting either of these guys.

Versus a guy that is undefeated and beat (by 10) Oregon State away. . .which Stanford couldn't.

guys, Mike and Brian are laying down the spin for recruits. Recruits read their site and their weekly chat.

They won't admit to a coaching change until it happens.

They did the same thing about our backup RBs earlier this year when were still heavy after Seastrunk.
