BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson was named to the 2026 John R. Wooden All-America Team Tuesday night which consists of 10 women’s college basketball players across the nation that earned a spot on the prestigious list.

Johnson, a native of Savannah, Ga., finished her fourth and final season with a fourth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance. Johnson completed her senior season by averaging 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest. She accumulated 26 games of double-digit scoring including seven outings with 20-plus points.

Johnson wrapped her career up with one national championship in her freshman season, two Elite Eight trips and four-straight Sweet 16 stops. This season, she was named a Third-Team AP All-American, Third-Team USBWA All-American, First-Team All-SEC and was a top five shooting guard according to the Naismith Ann Meyers Drysdale Award voters.

Johnson’s community service was another area she excelled in during her final season similar to all her previous years in Baton Rouge. She represented LSU on the SEC Community Service Team and earned a spot on the Allstate Good Works Winter Team. In addition to those two honors, Johnson was named the inaugural Kay Yow Servant Leader of the Year by the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Created in 1976, the John R. Wooden Award Program hosts the most prestigious honors in college basketball, recognizing the Wooden Award Most Outstanding Player for men and women, the Wooden Award All-America Teams for men and women, and the annual selection of the Wooden Award Legends of Coaching recipient.

Honorees are certified by their universities as meeting Wooden Award standards established by Coach Wooden, including progress toward graduation and at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.

Since its inception, the John R. Wooden Award has contributed nearly one million dollars to universities’ general scholarship funds and nonprofit enterprises in the names of the Wooden Award All-American recipients, and has sent more than 1,000 underprivileged children to week-long college basketball camps.

The John R. Wooden Award partners with Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) each year to host the Wooden Award Special Olympics Southern California Basketball Tournament. The day-long event brings together Special Olympics athletes, Wooden Award All-Americans, and attending coaches. It is hosted at the Los Angeles Athletic Club during John R. Wooden Award Weekend.
