ESPN is reporting that Texas A&M's all time rushing leader Darren Lewis is likely headed to prison after pleading guilty to federal charges related to armed robberies.
quote:Lewis rushed for 5,012 yards while at Texas A&M from 1987 to 1990. He was drafted in 1991 by the Chicago Bears.
The U.S. Attorney's Office told The Dallas Morning News on Tuesday that 45-year-old Darren Lewis has agreed to spend between 25 and 30 years behind bars. The record-setting running back known as "Tank" pleaded guilty in April to charges related to the 2012 robberies of DeSoto businesses.
The office says accomplice Christopher Washington pleaded guilty Tuesday. It says all sides have agreed to the same sentences for both men. Sentencing is scheduled for September.
