Per SEC Sports: HOOVER, Alabama (SEC Network) -- Four pitchers combined on a two-hitter to lift 7-seed Ole Miss to a 2-1 victory over 3-seed LSU in a SEC Tournament semifinal on Saturday at the Hoover Met.
Cade Townsend went the opening 4.2 innings for the Rebels and held the Tigers scoreless despite battling some control problems. He gave up just two hits, but walked three and hit a batter, requiring him to work out of some jams.
He was followed on the mound by Gunnar Dennis, Will McCausland and Connor Spencer, who combined to complete the final 4.1 innings without surrendering another hit.
Dennis went 2.1 innings, walking one and striking two. Causland pitched a perfect eighth inning, striking out two of the three batters he faced. And Spencer worked the ninth to close it out, walking one and striking out one.
