Must have 4 wheel or all wheel drive on your vehicles. Roads are kept cleared. Montana does a fairly decent job of plowing, but state such as Idaho keep their roads impeccable during the winter.

the interstate highways, sure.
but in just the last few winters 55 from boise to mccall, 20 from mountain home to sun valley, and 21 from boise to stanley (back way to sun valley) have all been closed during winter. and those are just the state highways in and around boise.
