VPN issues with overseas viewing

Last Friday I finally forked over the money for Nord. Fri/Sat/Sun I was able to connect to an Australian VPN servers in Sydney/Perth/Brisbane and watch 7 plus (both through my browser and their android app.) I've tried nearly everything and need some help. It occurred after trying to cast a channel from the app to our Vizio. I think it's a conscience but wanted to include that. Any suggestions? If you have the VPN can you please check if it's an issue across the Pacific or by default my end)?

I do get 9 which is about as useful as my cable package including Bravo/E!/TLC. No interest at all watching their MAFS series after watching 5 minutes of a bride talking like she had taken the most annoying parts of the Kim K/rapper shows. Poor guy looked like he wanted to run for the exit.
