Smartphone and Surface Book Compatibility

Looking for info on the best options for a smartphone that works with a Surface Book. I have been an iPhone user since the first one, but now due to work am using a Surface Book daily. I loved how the iPhone and Mac Book worked together with me never having to take my phone out of my bag to answer text messages, phone calls, etc.

Any phones work nearly this well with the Surface Book?
