Setting up restricted android phone for kids

I'm getting my daughter a phone but still want to restrict what apps she can use and when. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to accomplish this? This will be on a Samsung S20. I've seen mention of a product called Bark but don't really want a subscription based service if there is another way. My goals are to limit
what apps can be installed and used, be able to potentially track the gps, restrict the text/phone hours and contacts. Also need to be able to unlock it via samsung account incase the passcode gets changed/forgotten/stolen.
Thanks for the advice.

Google's Family Link app. It's user friendly.

Agreed. With family link, you can approve or restrict every app they try to install. You get a notification for each app they try to install. You can also remotely lock their phones whenever you want. You can restrict google searches and create a list of every site you want to block. My list is LONG. You can always see where the phone is on a map, etc. It's actually really good.

Thank yall for the suggestion! I forgot all about the Family Link app. I'll check it out and get it configured over the weekend.
