Select Multiple Photos to Import in Lightroom Classic Not Working

Shift click doesn't work. I've tried Fn, Control, Option, and Command. I can select multiple photos, but I can't click first and last to select a group. I'm on a MacBook Air. Any thoughts? I'm pretty new to this but I've searched the internet and can't find anyone else having this problem.
