PS5/Surround Sound Help

All,
I have a 5.1.2 Dolby surround sound system. My two ceiling speakers are above me. When I put the PS5 on AV Amplifier, the options are 5.1 and 7.1.
With 5.1 I don’t think my rear speakers are doing anything. With 7.1 they are but the ceiling are louder. I’m worried I’m not getting true surround sound. Any help would be appreciated.

PS5 doesn't output height channel unless you are playing a UHD disc. Set 5.1 or you'll get side channel out of the ceiling.

One of the things I don't like about my PS5 and another reason why I think the Series X is better.

No idea. Sony has a history of doing their own thing as opposed to licensing technology from others.
