My new house has a dedicated media room. Anyone have seating they're in love with it? Conversely, any regrets - anything you did that you would do differently?

Not sure how much you want to spend. Fortress Seating makes quality seating. I was a dealer when I did home theaters and home automation before going commercial. Never had one complaint.

Those are nice looking seats. What’s the price range for one with motorized reclining and cup holders?

I can find out. They have wood bases and structure. Very solid.

Yeah, we put a nice large sectional. Looks nice and comfortable. The family loves it.

I do not have a media room, unfortunately. My man cave is better set up for a "U," so I have two buckets looking right at the TV and two loveseats facing each other on either side.

If my room allowed for it, I would probably buy Seatcraft Imperial if I wanted multiple rows and wanted to build risers

Something along these lines if I didn't want to build a riser (they make back (on a pedastal, tall), middle (standard), and front row (short, probably best for children) seats. Like this:

Wife talked me into a Basset U-Shaped sectional for ours and I freaking love it. Big enough for the 4 of us plus a couple more.

Not sure how many people you expect to have at a given time, but in our media room we've got an extra deep sofa from Z Gallery. Which is ideal for just the two of us watching. Can likely fit 4-5 comfortably. I like to sprawl out while watching movies.

Thinking about getting some low profile seats that go on the floor on the sides of the room for when we have more guests.

Potentially 10 to 12 - problem is - it's upstairs. I don't want to haul furniture up there unless it is forever. If I buy 1 row at a time, I at least want to get something that is going to work together forever.

So, I'm doing my bleeding edge research now. Probably can only budget a couple of beanbag chairs for now - but I'm thinking down the line.

I looked at these and they're close. I may have to do a 3-3-4 configuration to fit 10 and grandkids can sprawl on the floor "down front."

The room doesn't have full risers, but it does have small steps for each tier.

I'm sorry I wasted your time with my post.

You can still enjoy a nice media room while sitting on a bean bag chair.
