Does anyone have any video editing tips?

I have to do a 3-5 minute demonstration video speech for school (making a pie) and need some tips on making the video.
I guess I’m going to get my sister to record it with my phone. would it be best to stop and restart the video a bunch of times? Or keep recording and just edit out the parts I don’t need?
Will iMovie do both of these things?
Any other tips? Or things I may not have considered?

It doesn't matter other than the import of a bunch of clips may be more difficult than 1 or 2 large files that you can then slice up for your movie.
iMovie will do what you need. Might take you a few attempts to get the hang of making the transitions Adding a low volume background music will help. It's much better than just voice audio.

Cool. Thank you
Maybe I’ll make some practice videos this afternoon and play around with the software
