Do you have to update HD Homerun software/firmware?

Don't do it unless you're forced to. Last time I did, it bricked my HDHomeRun.
When I contacted their support, they said they wouldn't support my model anymore and I am free to purchase a new unit.

Gotcha, I didn’t think about downloading the software on to pc to update firmware (duh).

The box is relatively new so I should be ok to update for now. If not I’ll come back to let you say I told you so
