Getting iPhone 13, currently using iPhone XR which has 5Ge while in BR. AT&T map shows majority of BR has 5G coverage. Will I be getting true 5g speeds with new modem in iPhone 13, or will the download speeds not increase drastically until more 5G towers are built? Currently getting 70-100 Mb down on XR, wondering how much this will increase with iPhone 13?

It's complicated, but it depends on the frequency you connect to the cell tower with.
LINK /
Of ATT, Verizon, and T-Mobile, T-Mobile is in the best position to provide the highest speed with their mid-band cellular frequency spectrum. ATT is in the worst position.

My understanding is T-Mobile’s 5G is just a juiced 4GLTE.
I have T-Mobile. Their 5G is OK.
Switching to AT&T so I have better coverage. I’m in SoCal.
