I have noticed through the years that on cellular data, it doesn’t matter where I am, my phone thinks I’m in Dallas. It seems to be a quirk of the AT&T cellular network. Hasn’t ever been more than a mild inconvenience.

Now I am using my iPhone as a hotspot for roku apps to watch tv because Cox is still out for our cable and internet. On network apps the app uses the detected location to determine which local affiliate to give you. So I get the Dallas area CBS affiliate. Not a huge deal but I would like to be able to watch the local station. Any ideas how to correct the location? There is no setting on the Roku app for location. There is a zip code entry in the Roku software itself but it apparently doesn’t do anything related to the apps.

I think AT&T‘s home network is in Dallas. When my phone location is unknown it always assumes I’m in Dallas
